About Anne

I believe positive relationships with friends, family, co-workers, and romantic partners are the key to a happy and fulfilling life. I have worked with couples and families for ten years as a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator and am thrilled to be an intern at the MN Couple Therapy Center under the supervision of Kurt Wical and Carolyn Dehnbostel.
I am passionate about attachment and have studied and practiced attachment parenting with my two sons for the last 15 years. I believe so many challenges we face in life connect to our need for secure attachment and come from attachment wounds we have from childhood and/or lack of secure attachments in our adulthood. The good news is that attachment styles can be changed!
My other areas of interest are sexuality, divorce, step-parenting, addiction, birth trauma, postpartum mood disorders, and parenting challenges. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and enjoy working with individuals from all backgrounds. I use she/her pronouns.
I am a graduate student in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I have completed the EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) externship and am pursuing certification as an EFT therapist. My undergraduate degree is in sociology and anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. I provide therapy to couples, individuals, and families at a reduced rate of $30 per hour.
